Aventine is one person. When you hire me, I am the one who answers your messages, builds your site, and writes your handover guide.
How I work
I work alone and take on a small number of projects at a time. You deal with me directly from first message to handover. There is no account manager and no handoff between people, because there are no other people.
Quotes are fixed and in writing before work starts. If something turns out to be harder than I expected, that is my problem, not a change order. If you ask for something new mid-project, I quote it separately and you decide.
I explain things in plain language. If I cannot explain a technical choice in a way that makes sense to you, I take that as a sign the choice needs another look.
Why I build sites this way
Most small business sites are built on platforms that charge monthly and get slower as plugins pile up. The site works, but the owner rents it. Cancel the subscription or lose the developer, and the site is effectively gone.
Static sites flip that. The whole site is a folder of files you own. Hosting them is free because serving ready-made files is cheap. They are fast because there is nothing to compute per visit. And because the content is plain text, you can read and change it yourself.
None of this is exotic. It is how a lot of the modern web is built. Small businesses just rarely get offered it, because a site the client can maintain is a site the developer cannot bill maintenance on. I would rather be hired for new work than for hostage-taking.
